Welcome

Overview

This course is split into 5 units: Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Production and Business and External Environment. Each unit has its own content and iis focused on developing students real understanding of the world of business studies. They have a variety of opportunities to prepare themselves for the world of work eg, interviews, application forms and case studies.

Business Studies is an option subject which is open to selection by interested students.  We aim to provide a course which is challenging and helps to prepare students for the world of work or further studies.  The content of the course is accessible and suitable for students of all abilities.  The current examination syllabus we have chosen is Edexcel Business Studies (1503).

Groups are taught in “mixed ability” classes where activities range from group work to using interactive software.  We ensure close monitoring of individual progress through regular recall and unit tests.  This enables students to set targets to improve their understanding and exam technique.

Students can be entered at either Foundation or Higher levels depending on their current level of ability.

We hope that as part of this course students will gain the knowledge and skills which can be used in the wider world.
